We are currently seeking an experienced Construction Estimator to join our growing team in Sydney. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in preparing accurate project cost estimates, coordinating tender submissions, and supporting project budgeting processes. Position Responsibilities and Tasks: Interpret construction drawings, specifications, and project documentation to prepare accurate cost estimates. Analyse labour, materials, and subcontractor costs, preparing detailed BOQs and pricing schedules. Liaise with suppliers, subcontractors, and internal teams to obtain pricing and project input. Coordinate and submit tenders and quotations for civil, commercial, and industrial projects. Assist in cost control processes, tracking project expenses and identifying cost-saving opportunities. Conduct site visits where required to gather estimating data and project scope understanding. Provide timely reporting on project costs, variations, and value engineering initiatives. Other duties as reasonably requested by management. Qualifications and Skills: Essential A Diploma or higher qualification in Building, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related field. Minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience in construction cost estimation, ideally in civil or commercial projects. Strong attention to detail with the ability to interpret technical drawings and project specifications. Excellent time management and organisational skills. Proficiency in estimation software and Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Excel, Word). Effective communication and interpersonal skills for liaising with clients, suppliers, and project teams. Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines under pressure. Desirable Knowledge of Australian building codes and tendering processes. Experience in project budgeting and cost control in a construction environment. Familiarity with project management tools and estimating software (e.g., Buildsoft, CostX, or similar). Current valid driver’s licence. Salary: This is a full-time position , offering a competitive salary of $76,000 – $90,000 per annum plus superannuation based on experience, for a 38-hour work week .
