We’re on the lookout for an experienced Station Manager to lead day-to-day operations on a large-scale Wagyu backgrounding property in Central Queensland. This is a hands-on role, with a strong focus on stock performance, staff development, and safety . What we're offering: A long-term position with autonomy and support 4-bedroom family home with established gardens Opportunity for partner employment – ideally someone with a strong stock background and admin skills, with experience in: Maintaining accurate records, particularly around stock movement, performance and treatments Using systems such as NLIS database, XR 5000, Maia Grazing, Stockbooks or similar Understanding of LPA and quality assurance programs (EU, MSA, etc.) A workplace that values strong systems, communication, and a low-stress approach to livestock No schooling on-site About the station: The property runs approximately. 10,000 head of Wagyu cattle (steers and cull females) using rotational grazing, Low Stress Stock Handling and a data-driven approach. Key requirements: Minimum 3 years' experience in a managerial role on a cattle station Strong leadership, communication and planning ability Competence in budgeting, staff coordination, and workplace safety Confident and willing horse rider – most mustering is done on horseback Skilled in cattle welfare and handling, fencing, waters, feed budgeting, and pasture management Comfortable managing staff, scheduling, training and reviews Competent with recordkeeping – Maia Grazing, NLIS, and stock inventory systems Willingness to uphold station standards in both operations and presentation Ideal extras: Vet chemical and ag chem accreditation Mechanical and welding experience HR and firearms licences Experience with AI and embryo transfer programs Strong horse management skills (feeding, training, healthcare) Familiarity with gear such as graders, loaders, and bobcats References: A minimum of three current references is required.
