Your role You will participate as a member of the multi-disciplinary team and, under the direct supervision of the Registered Nurse, assists in the delivery of quality patient care and in the provision of support services to clinical staff in area of speciality. Part-time and casual positions are currently available for Patient Care Assistant Roles in various departments. Applicants MUST be fully flexible to work on a roster for morning and afternoons shifts on any of the 7 days of the week. Applicant’s will continue to be considered for future positions as they arise across various wards over the next six months. The Position Transport patients to all areas of the hospital in accordance with recommended safe practices (any mode of transport including bed and wheelchair) Transport items to all areas of the hospital in accordance with recommended safe practices e.g.: medications, specimens, blood products Remove clinical care equipment and supplies from discharge rooms as relevant to area of work Strip, clean and restock discharge beds / trolleys / cubicles / bathrooms as relevant to area of work Central ward/department cleaning Assists by answering patient call bells and telephone calls in a timely manner Assisting patients - non-nursing duties only e.g.: making tea / coffee, meal tray set up etc Making and tidying patient beds and assist in ensuring patients surroundings are clean and tidy With well-developed communication and interpersonal skills, working effectively and harmoniously within in a multi-disciplinary team environment, commitment to customer service will be a priority. To succeed you will have the ability to work with minimal supervision, prioritise own workload and demonstrate good organisational skills.
