About the Role As Plant Manager, you will oversee the daily operations and maintenance of one the companies solar assets, ensuring optimal performance, safety, and compliance. Based on-site, the role involves leading a team of technicians and subcontractors, managing maintenance activities, and driving continuous improvement. As the key point of contact for stakeholders and regulators, the Plant Manager will ensure all operational, contractual, and regulatory standards are met. Strong leadership and technical expertise in solar energy systems are essential for success in this role Key Responsibilities Safety Promote and maintain a strong safety culture by ensuring all work is performed in a safe and compliant manner Implement and oversee company Energy’s Integrated Management System (IMS) across the site. Lead and participate in HSSE initiatives, including audits, workshops, inspections, meetings, and incident investigations. Conduct weekly HSSE audits using iAuditor and ensure compliance with all safety protocols. Ensure all contractors adhere to company Energy’s Health, Safety, Security & Environment Policy and IMS requirements. Provide clear, consistent communication and leadership to site personnel, including facilitating toolbox and pre-start meetings. Develop and enforce safety documentation such as SWMS, checklists, and risk assessments for all site activities. Coordinate high-voltage switching operations in collaboration with offsite teams. Preparation of rosters, work orders, SOPS’s and the like factoring in elements of HSSE. Technical Oversee the Solar asset performance to maximise generation output in coordination with the offsite team. Plan, allocate, and supervise tasks for the site team, ensuring high-quality work and efficient use of resources. Responsibilities include timesheet tracking, leave approvals, performance reviews, training, and conflict resolution. Ensure all work complies with relevant Australian Standards (AS/NZS 3000, 2068, 4777, 5033), legislation, and company procedures. Manage spare parts and consumables, including setting reorder levels to support procurement. Conduct scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities in line with procedures, OEM guidelines, and safety standards. Operate, test, and maintain medium- and high-voltage (MV/HV) switchgear and distribution equipment. Diagnose and repair low-voltage (LV) and extra-low-voltage (ELV) equipment faults, engaging external specialists when required. Support vendors in diagnosing and resolving HV equipment issues. Develop, update, and maintain all project documentation, including manuals, registers, procedures, and drawings during the O&M phase. Maintain and annually update the Solar asset Operations & Maintenance (O&M) Plan. Lead fault investigations and streamline corrective actions to minimise downtime. Implement and uphold a site quality assurance system in alignment with the Quality Management Plan. External Stakeholders/Contractors Manage performance of external contractors including PVH, PE, RISEN, PROA & and any other subcontractors required for the operation of the plant. Liaise with the Network System Provider, Council, Fire Services and stakeholders with a vested interest. Identification of any opportunities for improvement. Quality Assurance and Control Govern the quality of project documentation including document control, test reports, etc Manage, co-ordinate and / or prepare required reports which include regulatory (quarterly, annual, etc.), internal (weekly, monthly, etc.). Assist with, manage, develop, participate in and other aspect of asset management or operations and maintenance as reasonably requested from time to time. Amend working shifts (times, schedules, rosters) from time to time, to account for technical, commercial or HSSE requirements. Commercial/budgets Prepare and maintain budget including budgeted vs. actual spend. About You At least one-year experience in managing O&M of renewable assets Understanding complex, multi-faceted Major Energy Projects across multiple jurisdictional locations. Understanding operational risks & potential threats within an operating solar farm environment. Assist with the development of technical and non-technical solutions and identify improvements/ optimisation within existing systems. Working knowledge of Acts, Regulations & Policies governing project development, project construction and project operation. Collaborative team player with a focus on shared goals and effective communication. Strong commitment to safety, with a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating risks. Skilled in task management, prioritising workloads, and meeting deadlines efficiently. High level of situational awareness to respond effectively in dynamic environments. Experienced in community consultation, fostering trust through respectful and inclusive engagement. Proficient in stakeholder management, building productive relationships with diverse internal and external parties. Qualifications Bachelor of Engineering or minimum 5 years trade background (electrical) with a position of at least supervisor.
