The Company Opportunity to join a rapidly growing, innovative and market leading end to end hazardous waste management company, committed to environmental sustainability and operational excellence. The role will be based out of their flagship site, which is currently going through a major reinvestment and upgrade, so you will be joining during an exciting time of change for the business. The Role This an entry or junior level position for chemists interested in a manufacturing career. This is a hands-on position supporting operations and production, and playing a critical role in the analysis, verification, and classification of industrial waste streams. Based on their Laverton site. Responsibilities include: Conduct daily sampling and analysis of incoming waste to support treatment and blending decisions Perform accurate testing using a range of equipment including FTIR, GC, Karl Fischer, and Photospectrometers Liaise closely with the operations team to ensure treatments meet regulatory and site-specific requirements Send samples to external labs when further analysis is required Maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot laboratory instruments Assist with R&D for new treatment processes and methods Maintain detailed records and data logs for compliance and reporting Contribute to a strong safety culture—attend toolbox talks, raise risks, and follow site safety protocols Support continuous improvement projects across the lab and wider operations Occasionally visit customer sites or other facilities as required Your Background In order to be successful in this role, you will: A degree in Chemistry, Applied Science, or a related field A keen interest in waste treatment, chemical processing, or environmental science Experience working in a lab setting (can include uni labs, internships, or prior work experience) Strong communication and documentation skills Good attention to detail and a collaborative mindset Willingness to work in an industrial site (not a clinical or pharmaceutical lab environment) Flexibility to adapt to different shifts occasionally What's on Offer?
