AMEC Plastics is a plastic injection moulding company now based in Arundel in the northern Gold Coast, 25 minutes from southern Brisbane suburbs. Operating on a 2 shift 5-day basis, the state-of-the-art facility houses a fleet of machinery ranging in size from 80T to 900T, with over half of machines less than 3 years old and all machines with integrated 3-axis automation. With contracts for government departments and household brands alike, AMEC has a bright and sustainable future ahead. All die-setting is completed with an overhead crane which spans the entire factory floorspace including roll out die racks and a fully equipped toolroom for maintenance and repairs. Inhouse tooling support is conducted by qualified toolmakers ensuring setups are as efficient and repeatable as possible. Materials feeding is done via Labotek central loading system and managed by a dedicated materials handler. Significant investment has been made into guaranteeing the process flow is as simple and efficient as possible to ensure sustainability in the workforce and an enjoyable working environment. The Industrial Engineer will analyse production work done by mould setters, moulding technicians, supervisors and floor staff. Using AspectPT moulding software to plan, produce and gauge the effectiveness of production programs. Scrutinise the operation of all plant and staff during the allocated shift to ensure optimum quality, efficiencies and cost control. Job tasks will include but not be limited to: Examine existing operational procedures and established workflows Analyse how personnel, facilities, equipment, and materials are allocated and used Identify and propose ways to enhance operational efficiency across diverse commercial, industrial, and production settings Recommend improvements to optimise processes, resources, and overall performance Ensure activities align with relevant regulations, certifications, and licensing requirements (where applicable) The successful candidate will have: Previous Industrial Engineering experience in similar or larger plant Proven ability to undertake the tasks and responsibilities required Previous polymer experience in plastic injection moulding Mechanical aptitude with an emphasis on accuracy and precision Good written and verbal communication skills Able to work autonomously or in a team environment Organised team player willing to commit to an enjoyable and motivated culture Competitive remuneration package ($77,000-$80,000 plus superannuation) AMEC Plastics is in a growth phase, reinvesting in people, culture, process, and equipment.
