Key Responsibilities Design & implement Cultural Heritage Management Plans for road infrastructure projects. Carry out field briefs, site investigations, impact assessments, and audits, adhering to departmental environmental and cultural heritage standards. Provide expert advice to staff and management on cultural heritage policy, legislative compliance, and risk mitigation. Negotiate outcomes with Registered Aboriginal Parties to support seamless project delivery. Prepare comprehensive reports on cultural heritage processes. Manage cultural heritage consultancies—drafting TORs, managing consultant relationships, reviewing recommendations, and ensuring implementation. Develop and deliver training for regional staff on cultural heritage legislation and best practices. About You Proven experience in cultural heritage or related work, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team and engage Aboriginal parties and internal stakeholders Exceptional communication and negotiation skills Highly organised with strong attention to detail to manage field work, training, audits, and consultancy tasks simultaneously Analytical problem-solver, able to assess heritage risks and adapt as project priorities evolve Resilient and proactive in dynamic, field-based environments, Passionate about heritage preservation, with demonstrated cultural sensitivity and community engagement Mandatory Requirements Degree in Heritage Management, Heritage Conservation, Archaeology, Anthropology, or similar. Valid Class C driver’s licence. White Card (Construction Induction) prior to commencement. Clear criminal history check.
