We're seeking a Youth Mental Health Intake & Assessment Coordinator to join our dynamic team. As part of the Mental Health Community Support Services (MHCSS) intake team, you will play a crucial role in providing comprehensive and equitable access to mental health services for individuals aged 16 - 25 across the Eastern, Northern, Inner East, and South Eastern Melbourne catchments. In this dynamic role, you will: Incoming referrals management : Manage incoming referrals from individuals, carers, mental health agencies, and community health services. Oversee intake process : Oversee the intake process for our Youth Residential Recovery Program and Youth Outreach Recovery Service. Referral coordination and service promotion : Coordinate referrals, chair selection panels, and promote our services to potential referral agencies and consumers. Stakeholder collaboration : Collaborate with other Each intake services and external stakeholders to ensure seamless service delivery. Initial assessment and prioritisation : Complete initial needs identification, mental health screening, risk assessments, and selection panel prioritisation. Who we're looking for To excel in this role, you will possess the following qualifications, skills & experience: Strong knowledge and experience in youth developmental needs, mental health, and recovery work Demonstrated experience in working with people with complex mental health needs, including treatment, support, and rehabilitation approaches Experience in screening and assessing individuals with mental health needs and co-occurring issues Understanding of harm minimization approaches to dual diagnosis (substance misuse and mental health issues) Excellent communication and networking skills, including the ability to build positive relationships with diverse individuals Ability to triage and prioritise referrals and risks
