ROLE OVERVIEW: The Head of PMO oversees project governance, quality, and delivery risk management at Smart WFM, including Support and Managed Services(SMS). This includes setting delivery standards, providing tools, and supporting Project Managers with practical guidance and assurance. The role works closely with the Head of Service Excellence to monitor project health, manage delivery risk, and apply lessons learned. It ensures consistent, high-quality delivery and contributes to uplifting project leadership capability across the organisation. SUCCESS CRITERIA High PM Compliance Score (adherence to delivery methodology) Effective delivery risk identification and mitigation processes Project delivery health and predictability across all engagements Improved project team performance through capability uplift Uptake and continuous improvement of PM tools and methods KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Governance & Standards: Own and maintain PM methodology, standards (eg ISO), templates, governance frameworks and delivery processes Approve deviations to methodology and enforce consistency Conduct audits and reviews of in-flight and post-service engagements Ensure compliance with delivery KPIs: timeliness, margin, accuracy, and primary system usage (Kantata) PM Support & Uplift: Coach and mentor Project Managers through best practices and delivery experience Provide tools, templates, and practical support for effective delivery Lead capability development initiatives within the PM cohort Champion the use of automation and digital efficiency tools Delivery Reporting & Risk: Own and deliver dashboards within Kantata to provide visibility into project risk and delivery health Monitor and escalate delivery issues to Service Excellence and Executive Partner with Head of Customer Success to ensure service relevance and end-to-end feedback loops (pre-sales, implementation, post-service) Collaboration & Alignment : Work with Product Practice to integrate product-aligned methods into project delivery Support Practice Leaders with delivery insights and audit findings Drive alignment of project methodology across all delivery streams IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE Proven experience leading a PMO or large-scale project governance function within a consulting, technology, or professional services environment Formal project management qualifications (e.g. PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent) — ideally complemented by agile delivery exposure Deep understanding of delivery risk, project health metrics, and performance dashboards (preferably using tools like Kantata or similar) Demonstrated ability to design and implement project delivery standards, templates, and assurance frameworks Strong capability in coaching and uplifting project managers through mentoring, best practice sharing, and capability development initiatives Experience conducting delivery audits and compliance reviews, with the confidence to challenge and improve existing practices Familiarity with enterprise delivery frameworks, ISO standards, and digital delivery tools (including automation and workflow tools) A pragmatic approach to project governance — balancing consistency and structure with delivery agility High level of collaboration and alignment with cross-functional teams, particularly product and service delivery functions Commercial acumen to understand how project quality, timeliness, and margin intersect — and the leadership to drive improvements across all three.
