Position Overview As part of a collaborative international team, you will contribute to the broader goal of increasing public awareness and understanding of Rotary through public relations and marketing strategies; and increasing member engagement and club capacity by developing regionally appropriate tools and materials. This role requires a professional with an entrepreneurial spirit; creative approach to communications; regional understanding, knowledge of emerging communications platforms; ability to challenge and improve existing processes; and a sincere passion for Rotary’s work to improve the lives of people around the world. With the approval from the Rotary International Board of Directors, a Regionalisation pilot is being implemented over a three-year period across Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Islands (Zone 8). This role will support the new Zone 8 Regional Council (Rotary South Pacific) in its communication to various stakeholder groups throughout the pilot period; and particularly in focusing on member engagement in the delivery of Regional Council strategies and resources for clubs and members. You Will Have • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Marketing, communications, journalism or a related field. • 5-7 years of experience in marketing, advertising, communications, PR or other related field • 1 - 2 years of experience creating, localizing or editing timely content; this can include media messages, talking points, or materials somehow designed to influence broad audiences You Are Good At Experience with various communication channels: Proficiency in managing websites, social media, email marketing, and other digital platforms Analytical Skills: Experience in tracking and analyzing communication performance data Reliable knowledge of global and regional communications Strong understanding of multi-cultural differences Excellent communication and collaboration skills Capacity to work consistently individually and as part of a team Capacity to identify challenges and present solutions Critical thinking Ability to maintain high quality and brand consistency in all communications Initiative, creativity, intellectual curiosity, and motivation Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines Ability to develop and operate online survey platforms (Qualtrics knowledge desirable) You Will Be Responsible For Collaborating with and supporting a team of volunteers (Communications Committee) with relevant knowledge and experience to: Develop and Implement Communication Strategies Create and refine communication plans that align with the organization's overall goals, including brand messaging, target audience identification, and channel selection Manage Communication Channels Oversee and optimize various communication platforms, such as websites, social media, email marketing, and internal communications tools Content Creation and Management Produce engaging and informative content, including articles, press releases, social media posts, presentations, and other materials Stakeholder Engagement Facilitate communication and engagement with key stakeholders, including members and Rotary District leaders, and employees of Rotary International Managing partnerships Implement and manage partnerships with third party contractors and / or agencies to deliver specific campaigns, and manage budget associated Crisis Management Develop and implement plans for managing communication during crises or negative publicity Performance Monitoring and Analysis Track communication efforts, measure their effectiveness, and identify areas for improvement Leadership Attributes Communication: Be open to receiving ideas from diverse viewpoints and able to communicate messages so that they are universally understood Collaboration: Builds partnerships and works jointly with others to meet shared objectives Productivity: Able to generate results that moves Rotary toward achieving its goals Accountability: Have a clear sense of ownership and take personal responsibility for actions Innovation: Move Rotary beyond traditional ways of thinking Why work for Rotary?
