This is a senior opportunity to lead the application, development, and integration function within a national government agency that plays a key role in supporting Australia’s grain industry. As the Lead Application Specialist , you will be responsible for managing and optimising these systems, with a strong focus on performance, integration, security, and automation. This role sits within a small but capable team and provides direct technical leadership, working across IT, finance, and operational business areas. Approach has been engaged, with direct insight from the organisation’s senior IT leadership, to support a broader ICT restructure. This role will play a key part in delivering technical uplift, driving maturity, and supporting critical delivery outcomes. Key Responsibilities: Lead the Applications function and provide technical direction across development and integration activity. Manage configuration, support, and optimisation of Dynamics 365 F&O, Azure App Services, Power Platform, and related systems. Oversee secure and reliable integrations using Azure Service Bus, API Management, and middleware components. Administer enterprise data environments including Azure SQL, Cosmos DB, Synapse Analytics, and Azure Data Factory. Implement automation and performance monitoring using Azure DevOps, Bicep templates, Application Insights, and related tools. Provide Level 2/3 ITSM support and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives under ITIL frameworks. Ideal Candidate: Strong technical background in Microsoft cloud and hybrid enterprise application environments. Experience managing system integrations, database optimisation, and middleware administration. Proficiency with DevOps practices and tools to support automation and secure deployment pipelines. Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills across both technical and non-technical teams.
