Your Opportunity As a Tenancy Support Case Manager at our Tenancy Sustainability Program (TSP) service in Darwin, you will provide dedicated, person-centred case management to individuals and families who are at risk of homelessness and struggling to maintain their housing. Working with people experiencing complex challenges - including in communities with known anti-social behaviour – you will provide support to improve tenancy outcomes, reduce risk of eviction, and strengthen pathways to stability. This is an on-site position based in Darwin, covering locations across the northern suburbs and Palmerston. Your role will focus on building strong engagement, addressing barriers to sustained tenancy, and supporting clients with dignity and empathy through practical assistance, housing support, and referrals to wraparound services. Your Key Responsibilities Receive referrals and conduct intake and eligibility assessments, ensuring appropriate program induction including advising them of the program requirements, and their rights and responsibilities. Connect and engage with clients and co-develop strengths-based, SMART case management plans to address immediate and long-term tenancy-related needs. Deliver outreach support, including assistance with home maintenance, preparation for inspections, and liaison with housing officers. Provide education and capacity-building for clients around tenancy rights, responsibilities, and household upkeep. Coordinate and participate in case conferences, engaging relevant stakeholders to support holistic and consistent service delivery. Complete all documentation and maintain accurate records in line with program guidelines, including MA Connect and NT Housing requirements. Maintain strong relationships with internal teams and external agencies to facilitate referrals, advocacy, and access to broader support services. Requirements for Success A Certificate IV (minimum) in Community Services or related field; qualifications such as a degree in Community Services will be highly regarded. At least 1-2 years’ case management experience, ideally in tenancy support or housing services, with an understanding of barriers facing clients at risk of homelessness. Strong understanding of Aboriginal cultural systems and protocols, with a minimum of 12 months relevant experience. Demonstrated ability to work with clients experiencing multiple, complex issues in a culturally sensitive, non-judgemental, and strength-based manner. High-level communication, advocacy and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and motivate participants who may be reluctant to engage. Ability to manage documentation, keep accurate case notes, and navigate administrative systems confidently. Experience working within a child safe and trauma-informed practice framework, and as part of a multidisciplinary team. First Aid Certificate is desired but not essential. Full driver licence with no restrictions Before starting work with us, you will need to undertake a national police history check, qualifications, and referee checks, and have a clearance to work with children/vulnerable people.
