Job description Part time, 30.4 hours/week Fitzroy Town Hall and Reservoir offices $108,517 - $122,269 salary packaging super (pro-rata) ABOUT THE ROLE As a key member of the Policy, Advocacy and Community Engagement (PACE) team and part of the organisational management group, you will lead FLS’s corporate communications, manage media and strategic messaging, and craft compelling content that strengthens our brand and mission. You will play a vital role in advocacy, public interest litigation, and community engagement campaigns, while also developing strategies to deepen stakeholder support and improve access to our services. Dependent on experience, this role will be appointed as a Lead or Manager. The salary range provided covers both roles. You will make a difference by: Leading the development, implementation and evaluation of FLS's media, communications and branding strategies and policies. Managing FLS's digital presence across websites and social media platforms, including through the production of compelling content. Playing a leading role in the production and marketing of strategic community legal education projects, including the Law Handbook. Coordinating the development and delivery of communications and marketing materials including regular supporter emails, newsletters, fundraising appeals, and FLS’s annual report. Advancing our advocacy work, including through developing key campaign messages to influence target audiences. Providing strategic media advice to the CEO and other senior leaders in the organisation. See attached position description for more information. ABOUT YOU To be successful in the role you will ideally have: Relevant tertiary qualifications in communications, marketing or a related field. At least five years’ experience in a senior role in marketing, communications and/or media Demonstrated commitment to social justice, First Nations self-determination, anti-racism, decarceration, leadership by affected communities and the values of FLS Experience in a professional media, communications or campaigning role. Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to write in plain English. Demonstrated ability to maintain a high level of accuracy in preparing, reviewing, and delivering communications materials. Knowledge of the media landscape at the state and national level. Proficiency in digital systems and marketing tools including CRMs, mailing systems, social media, design suites, and data management systems. Excellent project management skills, including experience overseeing budgets and independent contractors. Demonstrated ability to work with diverse stakeholders, including community members who experience intersectional disadvantage. Excellent interpersonal, relationship-building and teamwork skills, including the ability to work at the intersection of competing demands and navigate intra-organisational dynamics to build consensus and produce outcomes. Demonstrated ability to work independently and to adapt to changing circumstances and priorities.
