The role As a Senior Financial Accountant, you’ll play a key role in delivering accurate and timely financial reporting and analysis to support informed decision-making across the business. Whilst you’ll be based in our Head Office in Rosebery, you’ll assist and liaise with teams across Australia and other international locations. Skills and experience You’ll have: CA or CPA qualified; Big-4 and Retail experience preferred but not essential Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar role Strong understanding of Australian Accounting Standards Month-end process automation and ERP implementation experience highly regarded Ability to thrive in a high-volume environment Strong verbal and written communication skills Advanced Excel proficiency Analytical mindset with exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving abilities Team leadership capabilities and strong business partnering skills Exposure to inventory management systems and inventory reporting. Your responsibilities Below is a summary of your responsibilities: Reporting Manage end to end month-end close process, P&L reviews and Balance Sheet reconciliations, within set deadlines Manage year-end external audit Assist with annual financial statement preparation Manage fixed asset register, including depreciation and lease amortisation schedules under AASB 16 & US GAAP across multiple entities Manage intercompany transactions, reconciliations and settlements Technical review and application of accounting standards (or similar) based on business requirements Assist with cashflow management, reporting and forecasting Compliance Indirect tax compliance including consolidated BAS, PAYG, Superannuation and FBT (or similar in US) Assistance with Australian and International tax returns, including tax-effect accounting Maintain the integrity of the general ledger and ensure compliance with policies and reporting deadlines Support external audit and tax reviews, including documentation and reconciliations Management Lead, mentor and support 2 Finance Assistants, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment Provide guidance and support to other team members as required (e.g. Payroll, AP, Admin) Strategic/Commercial insights Assist with budgeting, forecasting, monthly variance analysis (e.g. insights/trends) and commentary to support strategic decision-making Process improvement & controls Maintain strong internal controls to mitigate risk and ensure audit readiness Drive continuous improvement initiatives in financial processes, systems and reporting to enhance efficiency and accuracy General administration Assist banking administration Ad-hoc tasks as required by the business and Finance Team If you want to play a part in shaping the future of our business, we'd love to hear from you!
