Mine Surveyor – Open Pit Roster: 8:6 – FIFO Perth About Us Meeka Metals Limited (MEK) is building Western Australia’s newest gold mine, the Murchison Gold Project, 50kms north of Meekatharra and requires a Mine Surveyor for our Open Pit operations. The project is a combined open pit and underground gold mining operation with an initial 10-year mine life. Site activities are ramping up now with commissioning of the processing plant occurring. Underground mining is planned for mid-2025 at the Andy Well underground. Open pit mining is currently mining two open pits with others to come online over the next 12 months. About the Role The Mine Surveyor – Open Pit will report into the Chief Mine Surveyor is responsible a day-to-day basis for survey control in the open pit mining operations, ensuring safety, efficiency, and compliance with regulatory standards. Key Responsibilities: Conduct surveys of all surface areas and ongoing maintenance of the void models. Installing appropriate control in pit, crests, toe, ramps, blast patterns to ensure the area is excavated on design. Surveying mine configuration; and locating blast and exploration drill holes. Maintaining up to date data entry records and ensure data is available when required. Provide all relevant survey data to mine production/management personnel in a safe, efficient and effective manner. Produce plans when required including digging memos, drilling memos, traffic management plans, emergency plans and mine plans. Complete end of month surveys in a timely manner and issue the relevant pit pickups and volumes excavated per bench. Provide technical and surveying support to the Management Team. About You Relevant tertiary qualifications. Authorised Mine Surveyors Certificate – Grade 2 (desirable) Minimum 2 years’ experience in surveying in a Surface Mining environment. Proficiency in GPS and UAV processing software. Proficiency in mining planning software (Deswik). Proficiency in mine survey instruments (Leica). Experience in the Microsoft Office suite of software. Experience in the use of Microsoft Office. Valid C Western Australian Drivers Licence. Senior First Aid Certificate.
