As the Sterile Services Manager, you will: Lead and inspire a team of 16–20 Sterile Services professionals Champion best practice sterilisation processes in accordance with AS/NZS 4187:2014 standards Drive performance improvement and quality assurance across all reprocessing functions Work collaboratively with Theatre and Clinical leaders to ensure seamless surgical support Be a mentor and coach — supporting training, development, and professional growth Your Key Responsibilities Manage all aspects of sterile processing including decontamination, inspection, assembly, packing, sterilisation, and documentation Oversee staffing levels, rosters, and team performance, ensuring a safe and effective department Lead internal audits and compliance initiatives, aligning with infection control standards and hospital quality frameworks Collaborate on strategic goals, business plans, and continuous service improvement Participate in cross-functional committees and champion excellence across the perioperative environment What You’ll Bring 5 years of hands-on experience in a hospital Sterile Services Department 2 years in a leadership/supervisory role , with proven people management skills NZSSA Certification in Sterilising Technology (Level 4 or above) Strong understanding of sterilising technologies, equipment validation, and infection control protocols A coaching mindset, excellent communication skills, and a calm, organised leadership style Computer literacy, and ideally, experience managing loaned surgical instruments and tracking systems WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU?
