Reporting into the Winery Operations Manager, this is an exciting opportunity to lead a large and diverse workgroup that is pivotal to the business! Key to the day-to-day success in this role is being able to lead in the areas of Quality, Budget, People and Safety: Champion a zero-harm safety culture through proactive systems, equipment, and behaviour oversight. Lead cellar operations to meet production goals within budget, quality, and safety standards. Mentor and support Cellar Area Leaders to ensure efficient task prioritisation and resource use. Optimise labour, plant, and materials through effective SOPs and shift planning. Collaborate on training, risk assessments, and SOP updates to maintain compliance and safety. Drive continuous improvement and report safety, quality, and process issues via MyQI and MyHSE. Ensure team competency through structured development, training, and performance reviews. Lead change management and CI initiatives across cellar operations. Uphold food safety and quality standards, supporting audits and hazard investigations. Address non-compliance with safety and behaviour policies in partnership with HR. Facilitate regular team communications, performance discussions, and succession planning. Manage rehabilitation programs to support safe return-to-work outcomes. Prepare and present cellar performance reports aligned with production goals. About you Successful applicants will naturally take pride in their work, with 5 years as a people and operations leader at-scale. Through demonstrated experience, you will be able to: Identify, escalate, and resolve issues that impact cellar efficiency and product quality. Manage labour and make thoughtful decisions that drive operational and cost efficiencies. Engage and develop cellar staff through training, coaching, and respectful performance management. Confidently lead and implement corporate and site-specific safety programs, fostering a zero-harm culture Qualifications in leadership are seen favourably, however, are not essential. Extensive work experience is highly regarded.
