Working within the Engagement Team, this position contributes to audience development, partnerships and collaborations with educators and education providers that extends the reach and impact of the museum into the community. Responsibilities KEY RESPONSIBILITES: Develop programs that encourage critical engagement with art and ideas, extending the impact of the artistic program within Education and children’s audiences. Develop and maintain strong relationships with schools and education providers in the local community through active outreach and communications. Develop, promote, deliver, and evaluate interactive, student-centered and curriculum-based education experiences for primary & high school students and educators. Coordinate the practical delivery of school visits to the museum and offsite education experiences. Support the development of creative education and children’s programs, supporting museum based lifelong learning programs. Contribute to audience development and outreach activities, in line with the MAMA Engagement Strategy. Develop materials and resources to support engagement with Education resources. Maintain excellent records to assist with program and business reporting. Evaluate program for quality, impact and efficiency. Implement program and business improvements to support audience growth and continuous improvement. Provide Education expertise to Engagement Team regarding learning and development, along with a working knowledge of the NSW & Victorian Arts Curriculum for Primary & Secondary schools. Monitor emerging trends and best practices within the arts sector relevant to education and engagement. Promote a cohesive and inclusive working environment by working collaboratively with staff, contractors and volunteers across the museum Maintain an up to date and holistic understanding of the museum’s objectives through a proactive engagement with museum activities and programs. Perform other tasks or duties as directed by the Supervisor which are within the limits of the employee’s skill, competence and training. ESSENTIAL CRITERIA: Tertiary qualifications in Education, Fine Arts, Art History or related field DESIRABLE CRITERIA: Class C (standard) Driver’s Licence EXPERIENCE: Experience with audience development and outreach within Education or Cultural Sector. Experience delivering public programs and events Experience delivering art education programs and resources for pre-school, primary school or high school students.
