In this pivotal role, you will oversee the delivery of a wide range of compliance related services including safety and amenity, animal management, building site and illegal dumping investigations. You will provide leadership and operational support to a team of ten Community Laws Officers and one Prosecution Support Officer, ensuring consistent application of legislation and Council policies. You will be responsible for managing complex investigations and prosecutions, driving service improvements, and supporting a high-performing team that delivers fair, customer-focused outcomes. This position also includes participation in the after-hours on-call roster and occasional out-of-hours work to support urgent matters. About you: You are an experienced leader with a strong background in compliance or regulatory services, preferably within local government. You bring a sound understanding of relevant legislation and a commitment to fair and consistent compliance activities. You are skilled in managing people, resolving complex issues, and building productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders. You have excellent time management and organisational skills, and you thrive in a fast moving operational environment. Your ability to lead with integrity, support your team, and contribute to community safety makes you an ideal fit for this role. Proven leadership experience in managing high-performing teams, with the ability to coach, develop and motivate staff Strong legislative knowledge and the capacity to interpret and apply Acts, Regulations, and Council policies with sound professional judgement A strategic thinker and effective problem solver, with sound analytical skills and the ability to develop practical solutions.
