THE COMPANY The firm was est. 2008 by a Brisbane Accountant who previously worked for a large Brisbane accounting firm. He was later joined by another Accountant who become a partner together with their team they offer a comprehensive range of accounting services to a diverse portfolio of over 400 clients with turnovers of $150 million . The client base consists of mostly Australian companies and self-made affluent high net worth individuals. They also have clients in Hong Kong and Singapore. Most of these have complex structures and needs. Each of their clients are at a different phase of their business / life cycle.Some of their clients are semi-retired, retirees or planning to retire. Due to referrals, they have a continuous stream of new clients. The services the firm offer include business counselling and support, financial and management accounting, taxation compliance services and expert advisory advice, estate planning, business and financial management, strategic planning, business development, business valuations. THE OPPORTUNITY Recently a team member retired and another team member with 20 years service is changing careers therefore they are seeking 2 x Senior Accountants to join a dynamic team. As a Senior Accountant, you'll play a crucial role in handling a variety of accounting tasks, primarily focusing on tax returns, legislation, compliance, and client advisory services. Each client serviced by a Partner and Senior Accountant. You will be allocated work from both Partners. Duties and Responsibilities Manage and oversee the preparation and filing of tax returns for clients, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant regulations Conduct in-depth reviews and analysis of financial statements, identifying potential areas for improvement or optimisation Provide expert advice and guidance on tax planning strategies, including handling complex tax matters such as Division 7A and Capital Gains Tax (CGT) Work closely with clients, understanding their financial goals and providing advisory services to assist them in making informed financial decisions Supervise and mentor junior staff, providing guidance and support in their professional development Assist in the management of self-managed super funds for clients, leveraging your expertise to ensure efficient and effective fund management Experience, Skills and Qualifications Required The Ideal Candidate Minimum of 4 years' experience in c harted or public accounting firm demonstrating a strong understanding of tax-related responsibilities and compliance matters Hold a bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field, backed by significant experience in accounting and financial management Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification or nearing completion of the certification. CPA and IPA also considered Alternatively, you could be an unqualified Accountant with 4 years experience working in a CA or CPA accounting firm. Excellent knowledge of tax legislation and regulations, including Division 7A and Capital Gains Tax (CGT) Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively interact with clients and colleagues Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong organisational and time management skills Proven track record of managing self-managed super funds or a willingness to learn and take on such responsibilities SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL Gain significant experience by collaborating closely with the Partners and engaging with diverse clients Actively participate in servicing existing clients resulting in business development and contributing to the firm's growth Receive ongoing on the job training and development opportunities.
