Yegal is Australia's first on-demand paralegal service. We connect law student paralegals with law firms/in-house legal teams for paid project work. While getting practical experience is important, getting that first break is sometimes hard. To make things worse managing work and study commitments can be a nightmare! That's why Yegal exists. We find you jobs at times that are convenient to you. We've created an elite network of premium paralegal talent. Once you're invited to join our network all you have to do is tell us when you can work. We promote you and your availability to our client network and match you to jobs accordingly. What Do We Look For? We're on a mission to help as many law students as possible but we give priority to anyone: with prior legal industry experience who can demonstrate academic excellence (Credit average minimum) Yegal paralegals bring enthusiasm and dedication to every project. Jobs vary in type and duration. Yegal paralegals are sometimes called upon at short notice. Flexibility and effective communication skills are highly valued. What Jobs Do You Have? We work with a number of different segments within the legal market: Private practice law firms (Some large city firms and other smaller boutiques) In House / Corporate - quite distinct from the traditional commercial law firm Compliance / Financial Services / Government - another subsegment that we work alongside Our jobs vary in type and duration. We’ve had paralegals assist law firms on a 2 week cyber law due diligence task & we’ve also had paralegals support an in-house team casually for 2 years. Yegal’s view is that law students should use their undergraduate years to build up experience in different areas via paid short term placements. Contrasting experiences help you work out what you would like to do post admission. What Happens Once I Apply? We try to respond to every application within 2 business days but this can extend depending on the number of applications received.
