The Role This position is responsible for programming and commissioning of systems, supervising and training installation teams tasked with installing, servicing and maintaining systems, Security CCTV, Access Control Systems, Intercoms and Visitor Management. Ensures delivery of these services is delivered within budgeted cost and time schedules. You will also be responsible for maintaining key onsite relationships with the customer, other contractors and/or end users. What you’ll do with “Our Training and Your Experience” Responsible for fit-off, termination, programming and commissioning of systems. Duties include supervising, mentoring, coaching and developing colleagues. May oversee subcontractor selection process and work.Oversees service, maintenance and installation projects including installation, testing, and repairs.Acts as the primary contact with customers and internal colleagues in providing technical installation support and training. Provides training and handles the more complex issues that may have been escalated from less experienced colleagues.Provides guidance and training for a variety of manuals, schematics, wiring diagrams, repairs equipment, utilizing advanced knowledge of electronics and using standard test instruments and hand tools.Accountable for maximizing customer satisfaction. Always acts as “our customer’s best service provider”, ensuring Convergint is the customer’s first choice. Takes ownership of onsite projects including safety, quality and performance. Identifies opportunities for improvement including suggestions for installation methods to improve profitability and quality.Works closely with the Project Manager, Service and Maintenance schedulers and Operations Manager and assists in the overall coordination of installations, service and maintenance; makes recommendations regarding quality of work and potential changes in scope and identifies ways to continuously improve customer satisfaction. To be successful in the role you will need to have: Proficient construction skills and understanding of system plansExcellent understanding of blueprints, design drawings including wiring and labelling methods, system wiring, wiring methods, and cable support installationVery familiar with basic blueprints, schematics, manuals, and other specifications to determine installation procedures unassisted.Knowledge of Australian Standards applicable to the Security Industry.Good planning and project management skills and the ability to prioritise issues and tasks.Advanced technical programming skillsExcellent customer focus and ability to work under pressure; ability to maintain awareness of, and seek to meet the needs and wants of the customer without being promptedStrong mechanical and electrical aptitudeStrong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills Requirements: Mandatory Minimum of eight years of experience as a Security Technician.
