Job Description The School of Information and Communication Technology at Griffith University is a leading school for education and research in digital technologies. As a Research Fellow, you’ll contribute to the MRFF funded project “National data infrastructure to inform treatment in cerebral palsy”. Cerebral Palsy (CP), the most common physical disability in childhood, affects 19.5 million people worldwide. Many children with CP require orthopaedic surgery before age 15 to improve mobility, correct deformities, and sustain long-term ambulation, but evidence supporting surgical interventions remains limited. This project aims to create a national research platform with advanced technologies for multicentre benchmarking, and causal inference predictive modelling tools to identify the most effective treatments and optimal timing for intervention. The outcomes will inform evidence-based clinical guidelines for CP surgical care in Australia and globally. The appointee will have the opportunity to collaborate with researchers and clinical practitioners across 6 hospitals in Australia, as well as researchers in NZ and US, to develop cutting-edge AI algorithms and digital tools to inform CP intervention and treatment. The Research Fellow will focus 80% on the MRFF project and there will also be a 20% teaching component, which involves teaching into the School of Information and Communication Technology. In addition to the above, the position will be responsible for: Conducting research aligned with the MRFF project goals. Maintaining a good publication record in high impact, international, esteemed peer-reviewed journals and to seek competitive funding. Contributing to teaching activities as required, including convenorship of undergraduate courses in the School. Assisting with mentoring and supervision of higher degree research candidates. This is a fixed term (3 year), full time position primarily based at Griffith University Gold Coast. As Griffith is a multi-campus University you may be required to work across other campus locations. Griffith University’s sites are located on the lands of the Yugarabul, Yuggera, Jagera, Turrbal, Yugambeh and Kombumerri peoples. Salary Range The full time equivalent base salary will be Research Fellow Grade 1 range $88,689 - $103,888 per annum 17% superannuation. The total FTE package will be in the range $103,767 - $121,549 per annum.
