The Role A key on-site leadership position ensuring the hatchery runs efficiently, safely, and to quality standards. You’ll coordinate staff, monitor production processes and support continuous improvement initiatives. Reporting to the Hatchery Manager, your duties will include: Supervising day-to-day hatchery operations, including production, cold room tasks and chicken take-off processes Operating various hatchery equipment including multi-stage / single-stage Incubators, Embrex machines, Forklifts, and more. Monitoring, recording and reporting on incubation and hatch rates, escalating issues as needed Preparing and administering vaccines on an as-required basis, and responding to hatchery alarms on a rotational on-call roster Manage consumable and PPE stock levels, liaising with maintenance and safety teams to uphold WHS and QA systems Skills & Experience: Proven supervisory experience, ideally in a hatchery or other food production environment Mechanical aptitude for basic maintenance tasks and process troubleshooting Strong communication and team-management skills Current Australian driver’s licence and full Australian working rights Reside within 10 minutes of Beerwah or willing to relocate into company-assisted housing For bio-security purposes, the successful applicant must NOT own any birds, pigs, or poultry at their residence.
