The Gig An excellent opportunity has become available for a solutions-driven, and delivery-focused Senior Project Engineer / Project Manager to lead a landmark development in Kurnell. Backed by local and state governments, this high-profile project blends circular economy innovation with long-term community benefit, delivering major earthworks, utilities, drainage, and a state-of-the-art resource recovery facility alongside expansive parklands for the Sutherland Shire. Reporting to the Project Delivery Manager and based full-time on site, you’ll ply your trade leading the delivery of key work packages, managing subcontractors, sequencing, and ensuring works stay aligned with program, scope, and budget. You’ll bring structure and momentum to site operations while maintaining high standards for safety, quality, and compliance. You will be trusted with: Leading the delivery of a major civil work package on site Managing subcontractors to meet safety, quality, program, and budget expectations Tracking site progress and ensuring alignment with delivery milestones and sequencing Overseeing procurement schedules and coordinating critical material and plant deliveries Managing cost controls, variations, and progress claims with input from commercial leads Supporting QA and compliance, including ITPs, inspections, and non-conformance resolution Providing technical guidance and collaborating with site teams to solve construction issues Liaising with clients, consultants, and internal teams to ensure clear communication Mentoring junior engineers and contributing to a proactive, solutions-focused team culture What’s In Your Toolbox? A degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent recognised qualification) 8 years' experience in civil infrastructure, ideally on projects over $30M Proven ability to manage end-to-end delivery of complex work packages Strong understanding of programming, QA, subcontractor coordination, and cost control Confident communicator with the ability to lead teams and influence outcomes Skilled in reporting, document control, and client/stakeholder interface You’re a steady, solutions-focused leader who brings clarity, structure, and momentum to project delivery. You think ahead, communicate with purpose, and know how to get the best out of your team and subcontractors.
