The Employer Our clients operate Etiwanda Station, a family-run business located south of Cobar, New South Wales. They manage a total of 34,000 hectares of owned and leased land. Their enterprises include a White Dorper stud and commercial meat sheep operation, a Red Angus stud and commercial beef operation, and a meat goat enterprise. They are dedicated to breeding practical, profitable, and no-nonsense stock for their clients. Their animals are highly adapted, carry plenty of meat, are easy to care for, and are structurally sound. Their goal is to sustainably graze and manage the land they operate on while implementing regenerative management practices to enhance the overall health and functioning of the landscape. Each of their enterprises is designed to be low-input and easy to manage, and each plays a distinct role in their overall management strategy. They conduct an annual on-property ram sale and sell commercial rams and bulls throughout the year. The entire operation runs with a carrying capacity of 18,000 to 25,000 DSE, depending on seasonal conditions. The Role As a skilled station hand, you will play a vital role in supporting daily operations to enhance the business's efficiency and productivity. This role encompasses a variety of general station responsibilities and provides assistance in breeding enterprises. Your enthusiasm and passion for agriculture will help you complete tasks effectively, solve problems actively, and contribute to positive business outcomes. You will help with stock work, including mustering, moving, drafting, and loading livestock such as sheep, cattle, and goats. All mustering and handling of livestock is completed in a low-stress manner using two-wheel motorbikes and skilled working dogs. Additionally, you will participate in the Etiwanda White Dorper and Red Angus Stud operations. Your duties will include supplement and water runs as needed, as well as assisting with fence maintenance and the construction of new fences. It's important to monitor livestock to ensure they have sufficient water and feed and address any welfare or health issues. You will also be expected to perform general farm tasks, such as operating machinery and equipment, including tractors and loaders, which will be part of your responsibilities, and perform basic mechanical repairs as needed.
