Catholic Schools Parramatta Diocese is seeking a Family Assistance Officer to join our School Fees Liaison Unit on a permanent full-time basis. This role is about more than just managing payments — it’s about supporting families through financial challenges while helping ensure every child has access to a Catholic education. About the Opportunity Reporting to the Senior Family Assistance Officer, you’ll be part of a supportive team of five and manage a portfolio of schools and families. Your goal is to help families meet their financial commitments in a way that is respectful, fair, and aligned with our values. In this role, you will contribute to a range of responsibilities, including but not limited to: Working with families experiencing financial hardship to find practical, compassionate solutions Managing school fee collections and debt enquiries within a designated portfolio Maintaining clear and empathetic communication with families, school principals, and finance staff Identifying financial hardship, recommending payment plans, and debt resolutions to support student retention Supporting the continuous improvement of our school fee liaison processes About You Experience in collections, credit, financial hardship, or a related field Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills, with a calm, empathic approach A genuine commitment to helping everyday families navigate difficult financial situations Confidence in managing conversations about debt while maintaining trust and dignity Experience working collaboratively in a team environment A current Working With Children Check (Paid Employee) About Us At Catholic Schools Parramatta Diocese (CSPD) , we serve over 40,000 students and employ 5,000 staff across a vibrant network of primary and secondary schools.
