Lead Specialist – Education Advocacy & Policy We have an exciting opportunity to join our aquatic capability team and be an active contributor to our education and learn to swim programs. Located at our Port Melbourne Head Office and reporting into the Manager of Education, this full-time position is responsible for supporting the implementation of government school swimming and water safety initiatives. It involves driving LSV’s strategic vision for school swimming, enhancing relationships within the education sector, aquatic industry, government, and peak bodies. The role has a number of internal and external stakeholders and requires excellent client management and proactive engagement with others. In this role, you will Support the strategic direction of school swimming and water safety, including the expansion and further development of existing and new initiatives. Lead and enhance relationships with a range of key stakeholders including state and local government, peak organisations, the education sector, and the aquatic industry. Participate in advisory and working groups focused on education, swimming, and water safety, as well as contributing to research and advocacy on children's swimming skills at both state and national levels. Lead the development of progress reports for key funded projects, including those for the Department of Education and Training, and contribute to the preparation of grant applications, government business cases, and various reports. Support the development and implementation of key projects/initiatives in line with the LSV Strategic Plan, including RLSSA and SLSA national projects. Who are you? You have strong experience within the education sector, with strong administration skills and a continuous improvement mind-set. You are an exceptional collaborator who is comfortable communicating at all levels. You will have excellent time management skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritise. Your enthusiasm, approachable nature, and strong organisation skills will be key to the success in this role. Additionally, you will have: Strong project management background with demonstrated ability to coordinate, schedule, and monitor activities to meet organisational requirements. Demonstrated ability to effectively plan, organise and manage own time, and achieve targets within a set timetable as well as manage competing deadlines, prioritise and raise/resolve issues successfully. Current working knowledge of government, education and aquatic industry sectors. A demonstrated ability to take an analytical approach in developing workflows, processes, business cases and operational planning. Demonstrated success providing high quality customer service including desire to continuously improve relationships and outcomes with key stakeholders. Tertiary qualification in Education, Business Management, Project Management or relevant discipline or equivalent experience.
