This is a project-based role on an 8 days on / 6 days off roster based in Orange, NSW, FIFO, Local and DIDO applicants encouraged to apply. Accommodation options available. Responsibilities Identifies and conducts formal WHS training, including site inductions, toolbox talks and pre-start safety briefings, for employees, visitors and subcontractors. Provide on-the-job training for staff and subcontractors in carrying out HSE activities to ensure the minimum expected standards. Responsible for the development of training programs on WHS issues including hazard management, accident investigation, manual handling and fire safety. Assist in maintaining accreditations required to be held by SEE Group Pty Ltd or its subsidiaries for works e.g. FSC, QMS and TMR. Comply with SEE Group Integrated Management System policies and procedures. Provide specialist advice and guidance to staff on site in relation to general health and safety matters and work closely with them to identify concerns and mitigate risks. Record and assist in the investigation of breaches, incidents, accidents and dangerous occurrences. Conduct WHS audits, including the provision of audit reports to management determining trends and recommending actions, the review of audit/non audit action requests and the maintenance of audit documentation and records. Responsible for closing findings. Keep informed of all developments in legislative requirements, industry standards and best practices in construction and ensure that these are followed at all times with a high priority to workplace health and safety. Ensure that plant, equipment, staff and subcontractors operate within safe working conditions and ensure that all departmental operations meet the safety and legislative requirements. Essential Skills and Attributes Tertiary qualification – Workplace Health and Safety, Quality Management or similar (desirable) Tertiary qualification – Training and Assessment (desirable) Current Drivers Licence Current First Aid/CPR certificate Certified drug collector Background in WHS, Plant Operation, Civil Construction and Quarry processes. Comprehensive knowledge of the applicable Federal and State legislation, Regulations and Codes of Practice. Demonstrated experience working with regulatory bodies. Demonstrated experience managing multiple activities and maintaining focus on priorities. Highly effective communication, interpersonal, planning and negotiation skills, particularly as they relate to the delivery of quality customer service across a broad range of internal and external stakeholders. Highly effective planning, organising and problem-solving skills together with the ability to lead, motivate and influence others. Ability to investigate accidents and incidents and implement recommendation for preventative action. Demonstrated ability to prepare safety management plans and assist in the implementation of policies and procedures to achieve organisational objectives.
