The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality palliative care, symptom management, and supportive care to enhance the quality of life for patients with serious or life-limiting illnesses. Provide specialist palliative care to patients enrolled in clinical trials and those receiving treatment at Macquarie University Hospital. Collaborate closely with clinical trial investigators to ensure symptom control and holistic patient support within research protocols. Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings , contributing palliative care expertise to treatment planning. Conduct comprehensive assessments and management of pain, symptoms, and psychosocial distress. Work with oncologists, primary care physicians, and other specialists to ensure integrated care. Engage in advanced care planning , discussing goals of care and end-of-life decision-making with patients and families. Educate and mentor medical students, residents, and other healthcare professionals in palliative care principles. Contribute to research and quality improvement initiatives related to palliative care and symptom management in clinical trials. Participate in hospital-wide palliative care initiatives , including policy development and service expansion. About You You will be a qualified Palliative Care Physician with a passion for palliative care, pain management, and complex symptom control. You will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, demonstrated ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team and a proven commitment to education and research. You will enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and have excellent time management skills. Demonstrated expertise in palliative care, pain management, and complex symptom control. Experience working within multidisciplinary teams in hospital and outpatient settings. Ability to collaborate with clinical trial teams and integrate palliative care into research protocols. Strong communication and interpersonal skills for patient-centered care and family discussions.
