JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY As a Maintenance Technician, you’ll play a key role in maintaining the overall functionality, safety, and cleanliness of our student community. From responding to maintenance requests to executing preventative maintenance, your day-to-day will help ensure our residents enjoy a secure, welcoming, and well-kept environment. This is a hands-on position that requires both technical know-how and a strong customer-focused mindset. JOB DESCRIPTION Complete maintenance and repairs across apartments, common areas, and building systems, including after-hours emergencies as part of an on-call rotation. Support unit turnovers by inspecting vacated apartments, performing repairs, and preparing them for new residents. Conduct regular inspections and preventative maintenance on lighting, HVAC, plumbing, fire safety, and other essential systems, ensuring compliance with safety regulations. Maintain high standards of cleanliness and presentation across grounds and shared spaces, while overseeing contractors to ensure quality and safety. Manage inventory and supplies , assist with reordering, and provide professional, responsive service to residents. This role will participate in the on-call rotation for after-hours emergencies. They will also support routine property inspections, reporting any safety or building concerns to management. About You This part-time position is ideal for someone seeking fewer hours each week while still bringing valuable skills to a professional, team-oriented environment. You’ll have hands-on experience in building maintenance or trades such as electrical, plumbing, HVAC, or painting — ideally within residential, hotel, or student accommodation settings. Formal qualifications in these areas are a plus but not required. Physically capable of lifting up to 12kg, climbing ladders, and being active throughout your shift, you’ll also be safety-conscious, with a good understanding of site hazards and health & safety protocols. You are tech-savvy enough to navigate Microsoft Office and maintenance databases, and you communicate clearly with both residents and teammates.
