Reporting to the Team Leader ICT, you will collaborate with internal stakeholders and our trusted external IT service provider to deliver exceptional, seamless technology services to Shire staff and Councillors. Key Responsibilities Deliver Exceptional IT Help Desk Support Provide timely and effective resolution of user issues, ensuring a positive experience. Manage incident tracking and resolution within Shire systems, escalating to external providers when necessary. Oversee user onboarding, offboarding, and access management for IT systems. Support induction of new staff into Shire IT systems, ensuring a smooth transition. Collaborate with the Manager IT & Systems to build a comprehensive knowledgebase for ongoing reference. Develop expertise in the Shire’s ERP system (Synergy) to provide basic application support and system administration. Administer and Support IT Infrastructure Assist in managing IT assets, including procurement, deployment, and secure disposal of technology, communications, and electronic equipment. Support site moves, staff relocations, and lifecycle planning for IT assets. Provide system administration for critical platforms, including: Active Directory Exchange and Office 365 Endpoint and email security (Trend products) Wireless Access (Meraki) IP Telephony (3CX) Support staff and Councillors with mobile applications to enhance productivity. Drive User Engagement and Education Develop and maintain a comprehensive information library, including user guides, knowledgebase, and video content. Deliver regular training sessions to improve technology adoption and security awareness across the Shire. Collaborate and Ensure Compliance Build strong working relationships with team members, Records, Corporate Services, People & Culture, and our IT provider to deliver a consistent service experience. Adhere to Shire policies and procedures, ensuring all work is tracked and recorded accurately. Provide regular activity reports to management. Ideally, this role will suit a qualified IT professional with 3 years’ experience and is seeking a role where you can showcase your skills and experience to the forefront helping your coworkers with everything IT. To be shortlisted for this position you will need to have demonstrated experience to manage the day to day IT issues ensuring the Shire staff have minimal downtime. Technical Expertise: Proven experience in IT support, system administration, and help desk operations, with hands-on knowledge of Active Directory, Office 365, Meraki, 3CX, and ERP systems (Synergy experience a plus). Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues efficiently, with a proactive approach to identifying opportunities for improvement. Communication and Collaboration: Exceptional interpersonal skills to engage with staff, Councillors, and stakeholders, fostering a team-oriented environment. Desirable Qualifications Relevant tertiary qualifications in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. Certifications in Microsoft, Cisco Meraki, or 3CX systems. Experience in local government or public sector IT environments. Experience working with various backup (Veeam) and antivirus (Trend WFBS) programs Microsoft Cloud Technologies including Office 365, Teams, One Drive Essential Criteria (to be selected you must demonstrate the following skills) Current Western Australian ‘C’ Class Driver’s Licence A TAFE qualification of at least Cert IV (preferably Diploma) level in Information Systems or similar, or demonstrated experience resulting in the same level of knowledge and skill Support of all Windows Desktop Operating Systems (Windows 10) in an Active Directory environment Intermediate Microsoft Office Suite Exposure to Active Directory, Exchange / Office 365 and Remote Desktop Services Ability to work with minimal supervision A high level of organisation with attention to detail and the ability to follow procedure Production of a valid Police Clearance of no more that 6-months old Hold the appropriate rights to work in Australia Why Work with Us?
