Reporting to the Executive Manager – Ramp Services, the Ramp & Baggage Supervisor is responsible for overseeing airside stakeholders operating on WSI’s aprons, while monitoring operational efficiency and safety of both ramp and baggage make-up operations. The role provides day-to-day operational leadership and resource management for the Baggage Operations Coordinator team. You’ll monitor compliance of airport partners working airside in accordance with airport standards and rules and ensure WSI’s contracted service providers meet their daily SLA targets to drive efficiency for airlines, GHA’s and WSI. The role will initially be performed within regular business hours to support the development of processes and procedures. It will then transition to a shift-based position that supports our operational trials and testing prior to the commencement of live operations when the role will require permanent shift work. Key responsibilities : Lead and supervise daily ramp and baggage operations, providing oversight for the Baggage Operations Coordinator team Monitor safety and operational efficiency on the ramp and in baggage make-up areas, ensuring safe practices among all airport stakeholders. Ensure the team is briefed on any changes to Standard Operating Procedures and policies. Foster collaborative working relationships to support airport stakeholders and their management teams in addressing operational or safety concerns. Set a professional example for the team and demonstrate expected standards to all Airport stakeholders. Respond to safety incidents on the apron, coordinate with the AOCC and Airfield Services Supervisor to allocate resources and activate emergency services as required. Collect relevant information for incident reporting and liaise with WSI Safety and AOCC to report to regulators. Oversee the reinstatement of affected facilities. Support operational responses during declared airport emergencies or other business continuity events. Liaise with the Baggage Operations Coordinator and AOCC to resolve issues related to ULD management and supply. Monitor contracted service provider compliance with SLA targets for pooled GSE and baggage operations. Escalate and report on performance issues. Coordinate baggage system flight planning and support timely resource responses to system outages. Execute daily tasks to support WSI’s FOD Management Plan and Airside Enforcement objectives, including leading FOD walks and Quality Assurance inspections. Contribute to the rollout of WSI continuous improvement initiatives and projects. Act as the designated DAMP Supervisor for Ramp and Baggage Operations. About You Minimum 5 years’ experience in airport operations or ground handling experience, preferably in a supervisory role focused on ramp and/or baggage operations. Proven ability to lead and motivate a small airport operations team while effectively managing resources. Knowledge of IATA AHM requirements related to ramp operations and GSE standards. Flexibility and ability to adapt to change, working on multiple issues at the same time. Confident, self-motivated, and a genuine team player. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Hold a current NSW Driver’s License Ability to obtain the following certifications and licenses: Aeronautical Radio Operators Certificate Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC). Airside Driving Authority. Senior First Aid Certificate. NSW General Construction Induction White Card.
