Introduction About the Role As a Senior Legal Counsel, you will ensure proactive and commercially sound legal advice is provided to business units specifically in the areas of their commercial needs including corporate and regulatory requirements, disputes, M&A, insurance, superannuation, property and consumer credit. Description Key Responsibilities Deliver Strategic Legal Advice : Provide proactive, commercial, and high-quality legal counsel across corporate, regulatory, and operational matters to support business objectives. Ensure Legal and Regulatory Compliance : Monitor and manage compliance with laws and regulations (e.g., ASIC, APRA, ASX, consumer credit, insurance, property) affecting the Liberty Group. Support Contracts and Documentation : Review and advise on a wide range of legal documents including agreements, marketing materials, and Introducer Agreements to ensure legal soundness. Manage Disputes and Complaints : Represent the company in dispute resolution, manage escalated complaints, and assist with litigation and contentious matters. Drive Legal Process Improvement : Develop efficient legal processes, support product development, and contribute to strategic projects while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and compliance.
