Arrabury Pastoral Co. utilises the Channel Country properties for cattle breeding and fattening, producing high-end and export quality, grass fed cattle. As a Farm Hand, you will be required to work and reside at the 4th property, ‘Binda’, 10,000 acres of mixed farming, growing cereal and pulse crops, as well as forage crops for both silage and grazing purposes. Binda is home to a Santa Gertrudes cross herd of up to 3,000 head, an integral part of their cattle backgrounding fattening enterprise. The Role This is a full-time, hands-on role encompassing all facets of livestock and farm operations, including machinery operation and maintenance. The role offers a valuable chance for further learning and skill development, along with the potential for growing responsibilities. Skilled and knowledgeable in the areas of cropping, the Farm Hand will be involved in sowing, spraying, harvesting, feeding of livestock and operating mixing wagons, under the direction of the Manager, using modern CASE and Kuhn equipment. Due to the nature of the role, you will be required to work as part of a team or independently at times, clear and concise communication is vital to this role. In conjunction with the Manager, the Farm Hand is required to collate and record data, in regards to chemical, animal health and pasture inventory.
