Your Opportunity We are currently recruiting for AOD Case Workers in Broken Hill to work on the adult and youth related programs. The AOD Youth Case Worker position in Broken Hill focuses on supporting young people to better understand the impacts of Alcohol and Other Drugs by providing education-based group programs. The AOD Youth Case Worker position includes care coordination and wrap around services to young people who are living with concerns related to their substance use. In this dynamic role, you’ll facilitate structured alcohol and other drug group programs and provide tailored health and social support to empower young individuals on their journeys to recovery. The AOD Case Worker provides care coordination and wraparound services for people living with concerns related to their substance use, who are receiving community-based treatment, or a looking to explore residential treatment options, while also experiencing a high level of need. You will engage in providing case management and case co-ordination to individuals with Alcohol and other drug support needs, including harm reduction in relation to substance use, housing, parenting and family support, income, and employment. Outreach work will be key, allowing you to reach those in the community who may not be able to access services easily. The use of a pool car for travel during work hours is a great benefit, ensuring that you can effectively engage with people in various locations. Your key responsibilities will be to: Respond to referrals of clients to the service from internal and external support services. Undertake Initial Assessments and screening Work with clients to develop Treatment plans following completion of Comprehensive assessments Provide ongoing case management sessions with clients including reviews of Treatments plans and client progress Provide structured Alcohol and other Drug Group Programs for Youth AOD Case worker role, as well as SMART recovery delivery for both the Youth and Adult positions Maintain relationships with key stakeholders including clinical drug and alcohol treatment services including Far Western Local Health District and Non-Government Providers Develop transfer of care plans with clients at the completion of service delivery ensuring wrap around services continued to be offered Requirements for Success" Qualifications in Drug and Alcohol and /or Community Services or Case Management experience within a similar role Experience providing Case Management to individuals with complex needs. Understanding of issues impacting young people and addiction experience in that field Understanding of substance use disorders and mental illness. Current NSW driver’s license Current First Aid and CPR Certificate Before starting work with us, you will need to undertake a national police history check, qualifications, and referee checks, and have a clearance to work with children/vulnerable people.
