Description Are you a third- or fourth-year Civil Engineering student eager to gain hands -on experience in Local Government? My Gateway have a fantastic opportunity for an Engineering Cadet to join Parramatta City Council. As part of your Cadetship, you will work collaboratively with Pavement Engineers, Bridge Engineers, Asset Planning Officers, the Manager Road Asset Planning and other Roads Infrastructure Professionals. As part of the cadetship, some of your responsibilities may include: Participating in routine inspections of the Council's Road Infrastructure as directed by the Manager of Road Asset Planning. Support Pavement and Bridge Engineers in performing pre and post construction inspections to ensure compliance. Take part in inspections relating to capital works programs. Assist with the evaluation of road conditions, which includes assessing damage, estimating costs, and communicating with stakeholders. Maintain effective relationships with public utilities, contractors, and government agencies. Help evaluate technical aspects of development applications and road assets for planning agreements and capital works. Support the Manager in creating annual and long-term maintenance and renewal plans for road assets. About you We are looking for someone with: Australian University enrolled student of Civil Engineering degree (Third or Fourth year). Class C Driver's Licence. White Card. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to apply engineering knowledge and principals to make decisions to asset related technical issues.
