As a Driving Instructor you will deliver professional driving instruction and supervised driving hours for clients of SYC’s employment services, as part of our successful Geared2Drive (G2D) program. This program allows participants develop the knowledge, confidence, independence, and employability through safe and effective driving skills. This position will be working across the Adelaide South region which includes Marion, Christies Beach, Glenelg and Gawler Place Adelaide. Key responsibilities: Providing professional, safe, and compliant 1:1 driver training in line with road safety standards. Supporting participants to complete supervised driving hours towards their licence. Maintaining driving instruction records, including participant bookings and attendance, driving sessions and duration, and the provision of progress notes. Fostering a supportive, patient, and encouraging learning environment for diverse clients. Promoting road safety and confident driving behaviours. About You Experience in driving instruction and supervision to learner drivers, including use of dual pedal controls. A calm, professional, and patient approach in the delivery of instructions to learners. Comprehensive working knowledge of road traffic regulations, road safety and licencing requirements. Communication skills, both written and verbal, including the ability to produce documentation such as emails and reports. A passion for helping people achieve independence and employment goals. Key screening and requirements: Be willing to complete a Working with Children Check and National Police Check. Be eligible to work in Australia. Have possession of a current valid Driver’s Licence Hold a Certificate IV in Transport and Logistics Road Transport (Car Driving Instruction). Be willing to hold and maintain the applicable State driving instructor licence: SA – minimum CBT&A Authorised Examiner (yellow flash) Be able to undertake out of hours work, including night driving andcountry road driving.
