Responsible to the Registrar/Consultants, you will assist in integrated patient care activities. As the Medical Service Resident, you will be allocated general medical rotations. This role is suitable for candidates who have not yet decided on a specialist training program or wish to obtain more medical experience. About the role: Reporting to the Head of Unit, some of you duties for the role will include: Ordering and follow-up of appropriate investigations Day to day patient assessment, examination, and supervised management Contribute to a well-run unit – keeping results up to date for ward rounds and to liaise with other members of the patient care team Ordering and follow-up of appropriate investigations Modifying therapy where appropriate General ward work, including cover of all relevant patients while after-hours duty About you: Successfully completed one year of Internship Common, non-specialised procedural skills Interpersonal skills – communication with patients and relatives, team work with staff members, and counselling skills Basic skills of patient assessment and common, non-specialised medical procedures To continue to develop clinical skills through medical education Applicants must have AHPRA General Registration or Provisional Registration. Provisional registration may be granted to: Australian and New Zealand medical graduates undertaking an accredited internship in Australia. Australian and New Zealand medical graduates who have completed a medical internship in another country. International medical graduates in the standard pathway awarded the Australian Medical Council Certificate. International medical graduates eligible for the competent authority pathways As per the SMOEA 2022, the total term of employment with SA Health will be 3 years. Rotations following the initial 12-month allocation as Advanced Trainee will be determined in line with your training and SA Health’s requirements.
