Our Business Support & Facilities Team is currently looking for a casual Lock Up & Maintenance Assistant to join our team. This role will be working as part of the Venue Team responsible for ensuring that the campus facilities are secured, monitoring building perimeters for any unusual/unauthorised activities, ensuring only authorised personnel are in buildings past normal times, and assisting with some cleaning and maintenance tasks ensuring the facilities are presented in a well-maintained manner for everyday use. Other aspects of this role include: Security of Buildings Ensure campus buildings are locked down at the appropriate times and that no unauthorised personnel remain in buildings. Assist with building access for After Hours Events & monitoring the activities of such events to ensure compliance with building usage. Ensure buildings alarm system are correctly reporting back to Central. Monitor station upon completion of Lockup. General Facilities Tasks Assist with a variety of tasks that relate to and assist the general operation of campus facilities as directed by your oversight. Maintain excellent levels of cleanliness for venue at all times. Assist with general maintenance tasks, including minor repairs and upkeep of buildings and facilities as directed. Support venue staff and contractors as needed. Perform routine inspections to identify maintenance needs. Respond promptly to maintenance requests. Ensure work complies with safety standards and procedures. Adhere to WH&S Guidelines Ensure all WH&S regulations and requirements are being followed and adhered to for all lock up, maintenance and cleaning tasks being performed. Ensure safe manual handling techniques are employed and ensure safe use of chemical procedures are adhered to at all times. Ideally, the successful candidate will bring: Experience in a maintenance or similar role preferred but not essential. Good problem-solving and communication skills. Basic maintenance skills and a “can-do” attitude. Ability to perform physical tasks and lift heavy items safely. Demonstrated understanding of Australian Safework and WH&S standards preferred.
