About the role The Director of Tennis will have strategic oversight and lead the Places and People pillars of the TV Strategy to 2027 and associated key projects of this pillar. The role will act as a strategic conduit across both pillars and strive for efficiencies and collaboration as it relates to the interdependencies of these pillars. The role will act as the 2IC to the CEO and deputise as and when required; being the trusted voice for TV in the absence of/and alongside the CEO. This role will be a ‘trusted expert’ across TV with the ability to provide strategic thinking and reporting to the CEO and board, who has excellent communication, negotiation and influencing skills, and is able to provide leadership and guidance to the broader team and tennis workforce As an executive team member this role will also be responsible for influencing and positively contributing directly to the organisations culture and bringing TV’s values to life; striving to positively show the values daily and associated behaviours. In this role you will: Lead and deliver the Places and People pillars within the newly developed TV Strategy to 2027. Focus on the interconnectedness and efficiencies across both the People and Places pillars ensuring strategic oversight and collaboration. Oversee and manage the ongoing research and evaluation of TV delivered initiatives to review and refine their effectiveness and relevance. Innovate and generate revenue for Tennis Victoria by having a commercial approach to the delivery of initiatives with the wider TV business. In collaboration with Tennis Australia, lead the planning, delivery and implementation of National products being delivered at a community level. Drive a culture that embraces open and honest communication and feedback, helping others apply learnings and continuously develop. About you To be successful in this role you will: Tertiary qualification in Business Management, Sport Management, Education, Physical Education, Sport Science, Human Movement (highly desirable). Knowledge of tennis coaching pathway within Australia and internationally as well as trends in tennis and tennis coaching/workforce. Strong leadership capability and managing large high performing teams. Evidence of influencing peers and people in senior roles without formal line management responsibility. Extensive understanding of the tennis ecosystem and all its key stakeholders (ie. volunteers, administrators) including local, state and federal Government. Demonstrated experience influencing stakeholders to successfully implement large scale change. Hold (or be willing to obtain) a current Police Check and Working with Children Check. Preparedness to be flexible in regard to working hours and arrangements relating to work associated with Tennis VIC. What’s to love?
