About the role Are you a visionary leader with a passion for driving strategic transformation? Reporting directly to the CEO, the General Manager – Strategic Initiatives will join our Executive Management Team to lead high-impact programs that shape the future of RAQ. This executive role is responsible for spearheading major organisational changes, integrating innovative systems, and aligning people, processes, and technology to support our long-term strategy. With a strong focus on developing and executing a comprehensive communications and advocacy strategy, leading the design and rollout of a new service architecture, and driving innovative product development, this role is central to RAQ’s transformation journey. The General Manager – Strategic Initiatives will collaborate closely with the CEO, Board, and senior leaders to champion cross-functional teamwork, manage risk effectively, and embed data-driven decision-making across the organisation. By delivering high-impact initiatives and inspiring leadership, you will be instrumental in positioning RAQ for ongoing growth, resilience, and sector leadership. Additionally, you will: Lead the design and implementation of major transformation initiatives—such as operating model redesigns, business process innovation, and technology integration—to strengthen RAQ’s operational effectiveness and market competitiveness. Act as executive sponsor for projects focused on continuous improvement, better business practices, and employee engagement; identify and address project risks and barriers to ensure successful delivery. Develop and execute comprehensive communications, advocacy, and service architecture strategies, driving innovative product development and supporting market expansion. Provide regular, actionable updates to the CEO, Board, and committees on project progress, risks, and strategic recommendations; participate in relevant committees as required. Inspire and guide marketing and governance teams, fostering a collaborative, innovative culture that supports social impact and empowers staff through clear delegation and accountability. Promote RAQ’s vision, mission, and values, while empowering team members and cultivating a positive, accountable, and supportive work environment. About you You are a seasoned leader with a proven track record of driving significant change and transformation, consistently adapting and innovating to foster continuous improvement in dynamic environments. Your expertise covers financial, risk, compliance, and people management within medium-sized enterprises, and you are well-versed in professional, ethical, and legal responsibilities. You excel in program and project governance—from planning and implementation to reporting and data-driven decision making—and are familiar with funding streams and health service requirements. Deeply committed to diversity, inclusion, and social impact, you skilfully manage complex stakeholder relationships while maintaining accountability and a results-driven focus. Your outstanding communication skills and ability to prioritise effectively enable you to champion strategic initiatives and deliver high-impact results. You are adept at leading, supporting, and developing collaborative, values-driven teams, consistently upholding high standards of professionalism and accountability.
