Fitter – Mechanical Trade Canning Vale | Workshop-Based | Full Time We’re on the lookout for a qualified Fitter to join the team at Ox Engineering . This is a full-time, workshop-based role where you’ll be hands-on with a wide range of mechanical builds, repairs and custom equipment for the mining industry. Sick of the FIFO churn? What You’ll Be Doing Fitting, assembling and installing custom truck bodies and mechanical components Diagnosing and repairing mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic faults Routine inspections and maintenance on mining support equipment Working closely with boilermakers and supervisors to deliver high-quality work Supporting commissioning and job packs for bespoke builds Maintaining safe work practices — always ✅ What We’re Looking For Trade-qualified and experienced Mechanical Fitter in heavy industry, mining or similar Sound mechanical aptitude and fault-finding skills Strong teamwork, reliability and communication Ability to read technical drawings and work independently when required Bonus Points For: Forklift ticket or HR licence Confined space / working at heights Welding or boilermaking crossover skills Experience with hydraulic systems or mobile plant What’s On Offer Competitive pay penalties and overtime Long-term role with consistent hours Monday–Friday work, home every night Well-equipped workshop with real jobs – not production-line boredom A genuine, straight-talking team who look after each other Family-run business where your effort is noticed About Us Ox Engineering is a locally owned and operated business providing fabrication and engineering services to mining and industrial clients across WA.
