Works Coordinator Southern Tasmania | Barrier Systems and Civil Delivery | Full-Time If you’re someone who knows how to run a site, coordinate people and plant, and keep jobs moving safely and efficiently, this is a role worth considering. We’re working with Roadways, a well-established civil services company, to find a Works Coordinator who can take the lead on safety barrier system works across Southern Tasmania. It’s a practical, on-the-ground leadership role with plenty of variety and responsibility. You’ll be looking after crew performance, planning job logistics, and making sure every site runs to spec without compromising safety, quality, or timeframes. You’ll be supported by a highly experienced operations team and trusted to take ownership of how works are delivered on the ground. This includes installation and maintenance of barrier rails and wire rope systems for local councils and the Department of State Growth. It’s the kind of role where a clear communicator with solid civil or roadworks experience can really make their mark. You don’t need to have worked specifically in barrier systems before. What matters is strong site leadership experience, an understanding of safe delivery in a civil works environment, and the ability to schedule, plan and lead teams effectively. You’ll have oversight of plant and materials, set the standard for safe work on site, and help build internal capability in this space. A steady hand, good paperwork discipline, and a willingness to work closely with crews and foremen are all essential. You'll also be someone who takes pride in building a culture of responsibility, safety, and reliability. You know that how a job gets done is just as important as getting it done, and you take care with the details that others might rush past. A work vehicle, phone, and the support you need will be provided. This is a full-time, salaried role based in Glenorchy, with travel to project sites as needed. The organisation offers a strong pipeline of work, a solid reputation, and an opportunity to grow with the business. If this sounds like a good fit, or you’re ready to step up into a broader leadership role, we’d welcome a conversation.
