Job Titl e : Community Care Trainee T ype : 2 year term, 30 hours per week Job Description: WALCHA Council is seeking a proactive, dedicated, and compassionate individual to join our community care team as a Part Time Community Care Trainee. Working on a fixed term basis, the successful candidate will provide comprehensive support and assistance to the vulnerable members of our community, contributing significantly to their well-being, independence, and quality of life while completing a Certificate lll or IV in Community Services. Responsibilities: 1. Assist in community care tasks like Meals on Wheels services and driving the Community Transport bus 2. Ensure an efficient way of carrying out daily administration tasks including updating MoW client records, yearly reviews and reporting, and data entry using Polixen & Content Manager 3. Attend and actively participate in regular team meetings, case reviews, and in-house training sessions. 4. Uphold the rights of service users and provide the highest quality of care in compliance with legislative and Walcha Council requirements. 5. Participate in delivering group programs and individual social support 6. Support community involvement and social interaction of service users. 7. Attend regular training and development activities to continuously maintain and improve skills related to community care. Required Qualifications and Skills: 1. Year 10 and/or demonstrated literacy & numeracy skills 2. Willingness and passion to work towards obtaining a Certificate lll or IV Community Services or other relevant certifications. 3. Previous experience in community service, healthcare, or a related field would be highly advantageous. 4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated capacity to work effectively with people from diverse backgrounds. 5. Demonstrated understanding of the needs and rights of vulnerable people, including individuals with disabilities and older people. 6. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. 7. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to varying situations. 8. Current driver's license with the ability to obtain a passenger transport code 9. Ability to meet the physical demands of the job, which could include lifting, bending, and various physical movements. What we Offer This is a term part time position (30 hours per week for 2 years). The position falls under the Local Government (State) Award 2023 Trainee wage structure, with starting wage determined by age and/or previous experience.
