Tandanya is a proudly First Nations-led cultural institution with national reach, grounded in the stories, art, and wisdom of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. Based in Adelaide on Kaurna Country, Tandanya is a beacon for cultural expression and leadership. About the Role: You’ll provide executive, operational, and cultural leadership. Working closely with the Board and community, you'll bring Tandanya’s 2025–2030 Strategic Plan to life - championing financial sustainability, cultural integrity, and national partnerships. Key Responsibilities: Lead the implementation of Tandanya’s Strategic Plan across five core pillars Strengthen governance and ensure sustainable financial management Embed cultural integrity in all programs through collaboration with Elders and community Build partnerships with government, donors, and cultural institutions Advocate for First Nations self-determination, workforce development, and leadership About You: You’re a culturally grounded leader with the ability to build trust, influence strategically, and deliver operational outcomes. You value collaboration, accountability, and community-led decision making. Senior leadership experience in cultural, community, or not-for-profit settings Strong understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and governance Experience in strategy, stakeholder engagement, and financial oversight Inclusive and values-led leadership style Background in visual arts, multidisciplinary programming, or cultural facilities Experience working with Aboriginal boards, artists, or communities Lead a nationally significant cultural institution with deep community roots Collaborate with respected Elders, artists, and community leaders Drive systemic change through arts, culture, and storytelling Competitive salary and a culturally grounded, supportive work environment Apply Now!
