About the role The Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) is an expert clinical practice registered nurse who provides an evidence based and contemporary operational management and nursing leadership within a Correctional Centre or Detention Centre within Prison and Youth Detention Health Services. The Nurse Unit Manager provides expert contemporary nursing knowledge, skill utilising contemporary evidence based clinical practice to guide high quality, safe clinical services to deliver patient centred care for consumers within the correctional or detention environment. About you Our ideal candidate will be someone who can demonstrate the following: Demonstrated ability to apply specialised knowledge of contemporary nursing practice and theory in Prison and Youth Detention Health Services nursing. Demonstrated management experience and capability with an ability and commitment to practice collaboratively within the and the broader multidisciplinary health care team to deliver high quality care. Demonstrated data analysis; outcome evaluation; service improvement and development skills. Demonstrated management knowledge and skills specifically human resource management and advanced financial literacy within the healthcare environment. Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong relationships, open communication, and a positive environment within a multidisciplinary team, actively contributing to the learning and development of others to a high standard.
