About the role The Project Manager is responsible for the day-to-day oversight of Business Analysts in the delivery of new digital products for both the legal industry and internal business functions. You will play a critical part in ensuring that solutions are user-focused, delivering intuitive and streamlined designs that drive engagement and adoption. You will bring strong project management capabilities, with proven expertise in requirements gathering, stakeholder engagement, solution design, and end-to-end delivery. This includes working closely with internal and external stakeholders to understand needs, document requirements, evaluate solution options, and oversee implementation. Reporting to the Program Director – Projects and Customer Experience, you will support strategic development initiatives aimed at enhancing business operations and driving innovation in digital service offerings. This includes contributing to project scoping, facilitating research and analysis, overseeing testing activities, and managing the deployment of new tools and services. This role requires strong client-facing and documentation skills, as well as experience working with cross-functional teams including Business Analysts, developers (internal and third-party), and IT leadership. Additionally, the Project Manager will provide training and mentorship to direct reports and act as a key liaison between the business and IT. What you'll be doing Define project scope, objectives, deliverables, and success criteria in alignment with business goals. Develop detailed, stage-gated project plans using the Waterfall methodology, including work breakdown structures, milestones, timelines, and resource requirements. Ensure strict adherence to project plans, with clear stage approvals and controlled scope changes. Lead and coordinate the efforts of a project team, including Business Analysts and other cross-functional contributors. Assign tasks, monitor progress, and support team members to ensure alignment with project objectives. Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performance team culture. Act as the primary point of contact for project stakeholders, ensuring consistent and transparent communication. Manage expectations and facilitate decision-making by providing regular updates on progress, risks, and key milestones. Build and maintain strong relationships with both internal teams and external partners. Proactively identify risks, issues, and dependencies that could impact project delivery. Develop risk mitigation strategies and maintain an active risk and issues log throughout the project lifecycle. Escalate critical concerns to leadership when necessary. Define and uphold quality standards for project deliverables. Oversee reviews, testing, and validation activities to ensure solutions meet business and technical requirements. Monitor project schedules and milestone achievement, adjusting plans and resources as required. Ensure on-time and on-budget delivery of all project phases and final outputs. Resolve project-related issues and conflicts in a timely, constructive manner. Provide structured analysis and recommendations to overcome delivery challenges. Maintain accurate and comprehensive project documentation, including project charters, status reports, and change logs. Provide regular project updates to senior leadership and relevant stakeholders, highlighting progress, risks, and achievements. Ensure that all project deliverables are user-centric, intuitive, and aligned with end-user needs. Capture and act upon client feedback to drive continuous service improvement. Support a positive, solutions-oriented team environment and promote knowledge sharing across the IT function. Contribute to service standardisation and identify opportunities for operational improvements. Provide guidance, mentoring, and troubleshooting support to direct reports and project contributors. Ensure all projects are executed in accordance with organisational policies, governance standards, and applicable regulations. Maintain awareness of compliance risks and take appropriate action to mitigate them. Conduct post-project evaluations and identify lessons learned. Incorporate findings into future projects to enhance delivery performance and outcomes. About you 7 years of Project Management experience, with a strong focus on Waterfall methodology. Project Management Professional (PMP), PRINCE2, or other relevant project management certifications In depth knowledge of Software Development Methodologies. Excellent written and verbal communication and attention to detail. Strong stakeholder management skills. Strong data analysis, discovery, process mapping and problem-solving skills. Skilled in overseeing detailed requirements gathering, functional documentation, and maintaining project records. Strong ability to engage, manage, and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders at all levels. Waterfall Project Management – Deep understanding and hands-on experience managing structured, phase-based projects from initiation to close. Proven experience leading small teams (e.g., Business Analysts), assigning responsibilities, and fostering a collaborative work environment. Competence in identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks throughout the project lifecycle to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.
