The Opportunity Our client, a leading national steel processor in Pinkenba near Brisbane Airport, is looking for a Maintenance Fitter to support their busy operation. This maintenance team supports an entire manufacturing site; you'll be working hands-on with machinery, supporting daily operations, and driving continuous improvement. We are seeking an experienced and reliable professional for immediate start. Applicants from sheet metal processing, pipe, wire and reinforcing steel will be highly regarded! Key Responsibilities Carry out routine maintenance and respond to equipment breakdowns Perform fitting, fabrication, welding (MIG/TIG), and general mechanical repairs Maintain and troubleshoot automated and semi-automated machines Diagnose faults quickly and carry out effective repairs Support across both day and afternoon shifts when needed Maintain clear documentation and follow WHS and GMP standards Get involved in site upgrades and continuous improvement projects What We're Looking For Trade qualified – Certificate III in Mechanical Engineering/Fitting Strong problem-solving skills and hands-on experience in manufacturing Confident with welding and metal fabrication – stainless steel highly regarded Electrical and hydraulics knowledge would be a bonus Basic computer skills (e.g., Outlook, SAP, CMMS) Reliable, safety-focused, and easy to get along with Must have own transport and full working rights in Australia What You’ll Get $45 per hour (flexible) Opportunity for overtime Modern site and clean working environment Friendly team and supportive leadership Room to grow with a busy and stable employer Apply Now Ready to get started?
