THE ROLE On behalf of our valued client, a well-respected institutional group, we are seeking a client-side Project Director to lead a significant portfolio of major built-form capital initiatives and projects across regional Victoria. This executive role, based in Bendigo, offers the opportunity to influence the future of social infrastructure at scale, transforming the built environment to support long-term growth, education, and community development. As Project Director, you will provide strategic leadership across the full lifecycle of capital infrastructure projects—from early concept and business case development through to design, procurement, construction, and commissioning. You will be the key driver of program performance, financial oversight, and stakeholder alignment, ensuring projects are delivered on time, on budget, and with lasting impact. In this role, you will oversee the planning and delivery of large-scale, complex capital works within a dynamic, multi-stakeholder environment. You will lead multidisciplinary internal teams and external consultants through all phases of project execution, including governance, risk management, and operational readiness. A strong emphasis is placed on championing best practices in infrastructure delivery, fostering stakeholder engagement, and driving continuous improvement to align with evolving industry standards and organisational priorities. YOUR EXPERIENCE To be successful in the role, you are a seasoned senior leader with a proven track record of navigating complex-built form infrastructure environments where you will have had to consistently deliver results.With deep experience managing large-scale, multi-million-dollar built form capital projects, you bring a rare blend of technical expertise, commercial insight, and stakeholder diplomacy with the ability to see the bigger picture and cut through bureaucracy in a highly respectful and engaging manner. We welcome candidates with backgrounds in Construction Management, particularly those with experience in the Health, Education, or closely related built-form sectors that have delivered D&C projects in the $30m - $100m range. You will possess a deep understanding of construction methodology, design management, construction risk, and contract administration. Your strategic mindset and agile leadership style enable you to deliver outcomes while maintaining a strong focus on quality, innovation, and impact. YOUR QUALIFICATIONS You hold a tertiary qualification in construction management, engineering, architecture, project management, or a related discipline and bring with you outstanding executive communication and leadership skills.
